Telecomms & IT Engineer

CCL (www.cclglobal.com) has been requested by a major international energy company to provide an experienced Telecomms & IT Engineer to work on a gas project. Resident in Paris with significant travel when working on detailed engineering studies and subsequent relocation on 28/28 rotation to Algeria during site construction & start-up phases. Good prospects of long term work as client prefers candidates who able to commit to full project cycle, and are willing and able to travel. Attractive daily rate.

Qualifications: Preferably educated to Degree level in relevant discipline / equivalent qualifications / experience. Good PC skills. Excellent presentation and communication skills essential including ability to work in English and French. Candidates must be eligible to work in EU.

Experience: At least 5 years in a similar position. Reporting to Engineering Manager (Telecomms) and Quality Manager (IT). For temporary facilities responsibilities will include identification of Project Team IS and Telecomms needs, covering all operational sites / over entire project. Participate in designing IS System. Put in place validated IS System and maintain. Ensure system availability and close support in all locations. Participate in definition and follow-up of IT budget. Ensure compliance with security policies / interfaces. For permanent facilities, under authority of the Engineering Manager and guidelines of the Project Manager, Telecomms Engineer provides comprehensive technical support regarding Telecommunications during FEED and Detail Engineering phases. Reviews and comments on project documents related to Telecomms / IT, equipment specifications, design guidelines and philosophies / layouts. Supports preparation and evaluation of FEED and EPC Contracts. Follows up on supply of key components (via EPC Contractor), to ensure quality of equipment including attending Factory Acceptance Testing. Supports construction, commissioning and start-up activities at site. Must show commitment to quality and safety.
